I spot the metal over a doorway, within hoodoo culture the significance of hanging a horseshoe carries a deeply spiritual. Not just hoodoo though among the Yoruba peoples, the Orisha spirit Ogun corresponds to iron, Ogun is called the “god of iron.” Over in West African our enslaved ancestors here in the United States kept the respect for enslaved Blacksmiths on the plantation, and recognition for iron. Horseshoes are made from metal and are used for protection in Hoodoo hung above door ways. In the Middle-East, one finds the terra cotta blue-glazed horseshoe plaque. In Turkey small metal or blue glass horseshoes are blended with the protective all-seeing eye to form a unique apotropaic charm i call the horseshoe-and-eyes that is believed to ward off the evil eye.

Rusted Horseshoe within hoodoo culture are used as strong protection worxs when nailed above your front and/or back door upside down. Also used to draw in money when nailed to your front/back door right side up. Feed my horseshoes with dark rum or one of Conjure Worx protection oils to activate the prayers, conjure and protection properties within it.
